I really like the NXG Technology NX-C80LCR 8" 100-Watt Home Theater 2-Way LCR In-Ceiling Speaker With Tilt-Swivel Tweeter (each) In-Ceiling Speakers. I purchased them from AV House and am very pleased. I wired my basement for 7.1 but due to budget constraints had only installed 5.1 (which incidentally were also NXG). I added these in the ceiling left and right behind the couch. I love that the speaker installs flat with the ceiling, but the speaker is at a fixed angled inside the enclosure allowing the speaker to actually be installed in the ceiling so it "points" to where you are sitting. While the speaker can't turn once it's installed, the tweeter IS adjustable for further "pointing" so you can direct the high frequencies right to you. This really helped the clarity and imaging of the sound for me. The only thing that caught me off guard is the size of the enclosure. It is MUCH larger than a speaker of the same size with no angle. I get why they had to make the enclosure larger now that I've seen the speaker, but be sure to account for the larger enclosure just in case you have a pipe in the ceiling that can't be moved after the fact. From a quality point of view, the NXG speakers can't be beat for the price. I heard about them from an AV company locally that installs them in mansions in Sundance and Park City, UT. They were very confident in recommending them to me and I can gladly say I'm a fan. I'm driving my 7.1 system with a Pioneer VSX 1020-k7.1 receiver. Great sound, nice bass for an 8" speaker (probably because of the size of the enclosure) and lots of volume.I give my full recommendation to ordering these from AV House. Quick, professional and they were the best price. (I almost had to test out their return policy when I saw the extra size of the enclosure).
